Church giving and Summer vacation!

Offerings and Tithes are accurate measures of a church’s well-being. Duncanville’s First Baptist is blessed with faithful members who give faithfully,  obediently, and sacrificially! Our well-being is good – we are a healthy church!

The summer season traditionally tests this faithfulness.  Members are more mobile – going on summer vacations, taking weekend ventures, etc. Faithful giving is even more critical. Right now our gifts to-date are slightly behind what we gave at this time last year – about $17,500 less. Since our weekly requirement is $24,056 - we are less than a week behind the pace we set last year.  But we increased our ministry budget this year. This means we are about $50,200  what we are budgeted for this point in 2017.

This year we have an additional challenge with our pastor away in May and June.  Anytime he is away whether it be vacation or sabbatical; there is a risk that we lose focus and momentum. But it doesn’t have to be that way. We can change that. We can become more intentional than ever! SO determine to Be intentional . . . arrange for your offerings to be delivered in timely fashion even if you are away. Together we can make this summer different-that our offerings do not slow down, but stay up-to-date enabling our ministries to proceed in strength this summer! Take advantage of giving online using the church website or using your text app on your smart device. So even if you are away you can remain faithful in your giving.

Why Give?

Giving of the tithe is a biblical mandate the Prophets and Jesus made clear.  100% of all you receive belongs to the Lord.  We have the privilege to return a portion of that to furthering the ministry of the local church.
In Luke 6:38 these words of Jesus are recorded: Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
In Malachi 3: 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.
God desires for us to be found faithful and obedient.
