Biographical Sketch

 

Keith Brister was born July 27, 1957.  He completed high school at Putnam County Senior High School in Cookeville, Tennessee in June, 1975.  His family moved to Texarkana, Texas that summer, and he attended Stephen F. Austin State University.  He completed a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in May, 1979.  After teaching and coaching for one year at Center, Texas, he felt the call to full-time Christian service.  He was licensed to the Gospel Ministry at First Baptist Church of Center, in July, 1980.

 

Keith married Vicki Baker on May 5, 1979.  They have two children:  Chris and Katie.  They attend Texas Tech University.

 

In the fall of 1980, Keith began studies at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth.  While in seminary, he served as Assistant Minister of Activities at Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas.  He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in May, 1982 with a Master of Religious Education.

 

Keith has served in several churches across Texas as Minister to College Students and Pastor, including First Baptist Church of Lubbock, First Baptist Church of Waco and First Baptist Church of Huntsville.

 

In February, 1996, Keith became the Pastor of First Baptist Church, Duncanville, Texas.  He loves his church family and Duncanville community.  He was selected as Duncanville Man of the Year in 2005.

 

Keith enjoys sports (playing and watching) as well as running and fishing.  He loves being with his family.
