Pastor's Mission Buck Club

The goal of this "Club" is to create our own little “cooperative” mission fund to subsidize, scholarship assist and participate in a wide variety of causes without a weekly special offering for this or that.  The “Club” helps with those opportunities that arise on short notice, but aren’t in the budget.

Where Did the Idea Come from?

I “borrowed” the idea from Lee Rickaway.  Years ago in Lee’s early ministry days, one of his responsibilities in the church was bus ministry.  He knew that many people in his church had a real heart for this ministry, but budget funds weren’t always available for emergency repairs or special opportunities.  Lee started the “Bus Ministry Buck Club” for just such needs.

We faced similar situations when we had several wonderful mission opportunities present themselves after the budget was prepared and presented.  I really longed to show my support, and the church’s, by helping in some tangible way.  I didn’t want to take up a special offering every week.  So . . . the idea for our own in-house mini “cooperative program” — A lot of people doing a little regularly to do much together.  Therein is the birth of the Pastor’s Mission Buck Club!

How Do I Join the Club?

Are you interested in joining the Pastor's Mission Buck Club?  Membership is easy.

  • Call the pastor's ministry assistant at the church office, 972-298-1435.  She is “the-buck-stops-here” administrative helper.  She’ll add you to the list.

  • Just start giving $1 a week to your regular offering.  Clearly designate your $1 as “Pastor's Mission Buck Club” on the offering envelope or check.  The financial ministry assistant will pass your name on to us.
